SP Commends Young Scout for Heroic Deed
The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Olongapo, during its 23rd Regular Session on June 8, 2026, unanimously approved Resolution No. 133 giving recognition and commendation to Sct. Isaac Zyvil F. Nuñez for his life-saving response during a drowning incident in Barangay Gordon Heights. It was authored and sponsored by City Councilor Cristabelle Marie C. Paulino.
Nuñez, a 14-year-old scout and a student of Old Cabalan Integrated School, has been a member of Boy Scouts of the Philippines – James L. Gordon Council since 2018. Applying the skills he learned from various trainings, he was able to save a kid’s life during a drowning incident. During the deliberation of the measure, Nuñez shared that he was happy to have saved a life but admitted that he was initially doubtful that he can do so.
With his heroic deed, the City Mayor has bestowed him a reward, providing assistance for his airfare for an upcoming jamboree in Malaysia. His parent appealed to the Members of the Sanggunian and the public for further provision of assistance for his registration fee, amounting to around USD$300.00.
