SP Olongapo Joins National Women’s Month Celebration
The Members and staff of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Olongapo participated in the kick-off celebration of National Women’s Month on March 13, 2026, starting with an Advocacy Walk from SM Olongapo Downtown to Marikit Park, where a program was held.
With the campaign banner, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and sub-theme, “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!,” the event was also participated by various government agencies, civil society organizations, and advocacy groups. Simultaneous activities dubbed as “Serbisyo para kay Juana at Juan,” including Health and Wellness Services, Free Certified True Copy of Civil Documents and Mobile Registration, Distribution of IEC Materials and Family Planning Services, and Personality Enhancement Services were also held at the Marikit Park.
In a message to the attendees, Vice Mayor Legaspi highlighted the milestones set by Filipino women in various fields throughout the history, and called for the continuous support for the welfare of women. On the other hand, Councilors Anonat and Marzan-Estrella underscored the call for gender equality; while Councilor Magsaysay stressed the continuous pursuit of the Sanggunian to pass inclusive legislations.
Other Members of the Sanggunian present during the event include Councilors Benjamin Cajudo II, Rodolfo Catologan, and Angelito Baloy.
Led by City Mayor Rolen C. Paulino, Jr. as the Chairperson, the 2026 Women's Month Celebration was organized by the City Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Their Children (CCAT-VAWC) of Olongapo City.
