Support Program for VAWC Desk Officers Gains Sanggunian Approval

Recognizing the critical role of the Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Officers in safeguarding the welfare of said vulnerable group, the Sanggunian, during its 19th Regular Session last May 11, 2026, unanimously approved Ordinance No. 12 also known as the VAWC Desk Offices and Desk Officers Awards and Support Program of Olongapo City.

Authored and sponsored by Councilor Eyrma Yvette D. Marzan-Estrella, the ordinance aims to provide the VAWC Desk Offices and Officers with reasonable incentives, capacity building support, and institutional recognition. Incentives include monthly subsidy, training and capacity support, insurance and welfare support, and awards and recognition. The legislative measure also specifies the qualifications for the availment of incentives, implementing offices, funding source, monitoring and evaluation, and issuance of the implementing rules and regulations, among others.
